Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
Evidence-based and nationally accredited training course for adults who support teenagers and young adults.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is a nationally accredited training program that teaches adults how to recognise the signs of mental health problems in young people, start a supportive conversation, and connect them with professional help early. This course is fundamental for a parent, teacher, youth worker, employer, sports coaches... simply, any adult who supports a young person!
Meet Claudia Ricciotti
Registered Clinical Counsellor & Licensed Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor-
I support my clients to become the person they want to be by changing their perspective and relationship with themselves. Often, my clients are stuck in a pattern of unhelpful thoughts, living a life they don’t want to live, or doing things that don’t align with their values. Change (even small change) is essential to becoming the person they want to be - nothing changes if nothing changes.
-
I have the privilege of supporting so many different people through their mental health struggles. It’s very hard for me to narrow ‘favourite problems’ into a list, but these are the presentations I feel most confident supporting:
Adolescents and adults
School avoidance, bullying, social exclusion
Anxiety disorders (incl. worry, stress, burnout, perfectionism, phobias, obsessive-compulsive)
Mood disorders (depression)
Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
Borderline personality disorder (BPD)
Emotional dysregulation (‘mood swings’, difficulty managing big emotions)
Neurodiversity, including ASD, ADHD, and AuDHD
